10 December 2017 at 6 p.m

During the concert we hear an arrangement for two guitars of Valse Triste and Sonatine op. 67 no 1 as well as "I'm not searching power, not glory" - Christmas carol by Jean Sibelius among others, in honor of Finland's 100th anniversary. We hear also an arrangement of John Dowland's "Come heavy sleep" - song as a kind of reflective introduction to the concert. The music of nordic countries meets a warmth of the South in the work of Brazilian composer Sérgio Assad - Três Cenas Brasileiras, which describes the world's largest water lily. The name of the flower was given after Queen Victoria of United Kingdom and we hear also the music of British Isles. Finally, guitarists will perform the Ritual Fire Dance from Spanish composer Manuel de Falla's ballet The Bewitched Love.
